Customer Reviews:

Great Game, Terrible Guitar By gd567
Thankfully, Guitar Hero has finally lived up to its name for the first time since Guitar Hero 3. There are 93 new songs, and almost all of them are geared towards guitar. There is still the full band option, but unlike gh5, gh smash hits and gh world tour the priority is a good song for guitar. Warriors of rock has songs by classic bands like aerosmith, bu also has newer ones like linkin park and muse. Also, Activision put on a hard song by dragonforce, which makes the game infinitely more fun. There is about 6-10 hours of gameplay on quest mode, so even if you try to finish as fast as you can it still takes you several days. One small problem with so much gameplay is that you can't actually play the hard songs on quickplay until you have passed them in quest mode, a week after you got the game. But overall the game is very fun to play, and if you haven't bought a guitar hero game since gh3, or even if you are just starting, i would definitely recomend getting the game. But DO NOT get the guitar.

The guitar is the reason why this is a four star review and not a five star one. The guitar works great; it has a fast whammy bar, good strumbar and a slightly smaller neck than other guitars, and it looks much better than others. However, three hours into playing the game, my strum bar, which Activision called a "shredders best friend" completely broke. It neither up strums nor down strums. Useless. Luckily I have an older guitar that still works, and 90 day warranty means I can return the guitar and get another one, but it was still very disappointing. Maybe it was just my guitar that didn't work very well, but if you have another working guitar I would strongly recommend you buy the game alone.

Overall, I would say that the game is second best in the whole guitar hero series; I would recommend it for both hardcore and casual players, but if at all possible do not get the guitar.

dont believe the bashing By aloe
okay so places like ign are bashing this game. not because of the quality of the game but because guitar hero has flooded the market since release. so they are unjustly judging this game.

this IS the best guitar hero to date. the difficulty is higher but still accessible by new players, the tracklist is FAR better than ever before, and like gh5 before it, warriors of rock can copy the tracks from world tour and gh 5 if you own a copy (must be 360 version of the game)

the guitar is far more responsive than previously. there is no touchpad but the build feels more sturdy. the body style is different than before. rather than a 2 piece guitar its a 4 piece.

the graphic are improved and the customization system is better as well. and the story mode has an actual story and its a lot more fun than in the past2 of 2

Great game and guitar, Iffy setlist. By chris
This game is really fun and underrated. You may have seen official reviews from certain video game review websites that did not review it properly. I will fist start off with the mistakes this official reviewer from that well known video game website. He says that party play is "buried under a sea of menus" when all you need to do to access party play is to press the yellow button on the guitar at the main menu. He also goes to say that the 5 star paradigm you know and love is gone" which is also untrue. Quest mode will have you shooting for about 7 stars because of the new powers, but in quickplay+ you have the option of playing the traditional way with just earning 5 stars and not using powerups.

Lets start with the gameplay, like i said the game offers a new way of playing with the new powerups, which i find fun and i will list all of them for you
speadfreak: keeps multiplier at 2x and you earn extra stars for keeping it over 3x
crowd hyper: earn extra stars for hitting notes while the rock meter is full
star power generator: earn 5% star power for every 10 notes hit
star power amplifier: earn 2x the normal amount for hitting star power phrases
mulitplier extender: earn up to 5x multiplier instead of 4
steak guardian: protects you from breaking your streak for 1 note and earn extra stars for long streaks
Resurrection: earn up to 2 ankhs for playing well and each ankh you earn will protect you from failing
star power nova: earn 3x for star power instead of 2x.

People may not want to play this way, so in quickplay+ you can play the traditional way where you can earn up to 5 stars.

The guitar has a nice design and an improvement over the previous guitar hero guitars. But it is not perfect. The strummer squeaks which can get annoying, plus sometimes the guitar will have a period of time where it will drop notes, but not as bad as the les paul guitar. But all other previous problems have gone away, the whammy bar stays in place and feels very smooth, the star power tilt detection is fixed, previous guitar hero guitars had a problem with star power going off on its own.

Now the problem with the setlist i have is that it has some good artists, but they pick mediocre songs by them. I feel like instead of having bleed it out, they should have had "in the end" by linkin park. instead of burnin for you, they should have had dont fear the reaper by the blue oyster cult.
