Customer Reviews:
Incredible atmosphere. Solid gameplay. By BEF
Both Metro games have an incredible atmosphere. (Think STALKER, Cryostatis, etc.) IIRC, this game has a bit more emphasis on human enemies than the first, but there are still some strong mutant sections. The various stations are full of life and there are plenty of tidbits if you stick around and listen.
This is a solid single player experience; and IMHO well worth the purchase price.Don't worry you will get your code :) By Ahmad Hairston
I placed the order a little over an hour ago and already got the code. Game is currently installing. Can't beat the price.Metro Trying for to much By P. Lyon
I have to admit that the graphics and sound are on par with most of the other first person shooters out there.
If you never played the previous, like myself, you might loose a bit of the back story since they don't go to much into the previous stories from the other games.
The game play can be interesting at times since there is no HUD, other than the basic ammo indicator when you switch weapons and reload.
So you might get turned around a bit, also they only cover the most basic control that every one knows.
They don't cover that much on the other important features, or if they did it comes and goes so quickly you will miss it.
for example I didn't see anything about recharging your head lamp, might have missed it, but you have a portable charger to recharge your batteries which is very important later on.
The story is pretty average, won't spoil any details, but the makers of this game took it to the most realistic that they could.
You have the choice of sneaking past, knocking out, or killing anyone in your area when you in hostile areas. You can pick any of the options pretty easily, you can even walk right up to the front of a enemy in dark area and do what you will.
There also seems to be side quest, but they are hard to pickup sometimes.
Now I know people like very realistic games, but personally there is a line I don't want to cross.
I wish someone would have covered the subject matter in the game so I could decide better, but sometimes it's not mentioned as in real life.
What I am talking about is the real world issue of violence against women and children, and the rape of women within the game. Sorry if this spoils any part of the story, but just putting out this info so someone like myself won't be surprised that they go that far in this game.
There is also female topless scenes within the game also, if you like bouncy boobs CG stuff.
