Hulkamania Runs Wild on the Wii Brother! By Brandon
I have been a huge fan of wrestling since I can remember and I grew up watching the WWF so this game's roster blows me away, but this game has much more to offer than just a great roster. The Wii version of this game does not look as sharp or crisp as the Xbox 360 version but it still looks pretty darn good. All Stars has several hidden characters and costumes and that will keep a player busy for a while.
Gameplay 4.5/5
Gameplay in this game is a bit hard to learn but once you get that hang of it you will be able to go toe to toe with Andre himself. Doing moves and finishing moves are simple in this game and that is a very good thing for the most part. You can pick up weapons and bash other players down with weapons such as a chair and crutch. One of the best things about the gameplay is how there are 4 different character classes in the game. Big Men class is the funnest because those guys have awesome power but the Acrobat class of characters are very fast moving people who can be on one end of the ring one second and the other side the next.
Modes 5/5
This game has a lot of fun modes and to me these modes are much more fun than the modes in the SVR series.
1. Fantasy Matchups is a mode that puts a Legend in a match with a current Superstar and before you play the match you pick who you want to be, and before the match you get to watch a very cool video that hypes the match between the two wrestlers.
2. Path of Champions is a mode where you fight through 10 matches to earn a title. There are 3 paths you can take one being the World heavyweight Title path, two being the WWE Championship Path, and last but not least the WWE Tag Team Championship Path. Call me old school but I like these story modes better than the ones that show up in the SVR series.
Content 5/5
There is a lot of content in this game from several hidden outfits to several wrestlers. With a total of 30 wrestlers in this game and each one having at least one hidden outfit this game will last a while. There are hidden characters, arenas, and Fantasy Matchups.
This game is a blast for any old school WWF fan and it feels so fresh compared to the SVR series. The roster in this game is amazing and it will be so much fun to take Hulk Hogan and Macho Man (The Mega Powers) to the Tag Team Championships Brother! So if your a WWF fan of the past or a WWE fan of now buy this game and feel the Power of Hulkamania like never before Brother! Now You CAN Try This At Home! By Randi Morse
We're a household that enjoys wrestling, and even though we do watch Raw and Smackdown and TNA, we don't tend to enjoy the wrestling games for the Wii console. They're a bit too difficult for our 10 year old son to figure out (never mind the 37 year old dad!!) so we've avoided them for awhile. We got the opportunity to play WWE All Stars and, let me tell you, it's definitely a game we'll be playing for a long time.
PROS:
- Realism. The Wii graphics aren't usually the best, but the graphics are pretty nice for this game. It is actually about as fun to watch as it is to play.
- Commentary. The commentary is fun. Hearing Lawler and Ross commentating together again was worth the price of the game alone. And it's nowhere near as repetitive as it could be, but rather is very enjoyable to listen to!
- Slow-mo. When you do a great move, you get to see some slow-mo action. Our 10 year old son loved watching the slow-mo, but not as much as the "big" kid in the house. The big kid was made even more excited by simply watching the slow-mo than he was playing the game!
- It took a little while to figure things out, but the controls aren't too bad. And it feels almost more lifelike because you're shaking both hands and really pummeling someone.
CONS:
- Controls. It took a little while to figure things out, and even though we've played for a few hours, we still have some learning to do. I'd suggest going career mode first to really get a handle on everything.
- Can't get all players right off. I wish you could, because that would be even more fun. But we'll get all of the people unlocked eventually!!
Basically, this is a very solid and decent game. The first match our family did was The Rock VS Stone Cold - and how awesome is that? If you're a fan of wrestling, then this is definitely a game to pick up!2 of 2 WWE All Stars By Jeff Thornton
This game was for my son. We found it for a great price online and he loves it. It is not my cup of tea, but for a young kid it seems to keep him entertained for a period of time.
